About

About Me

Hello, My name is Selina. I was born in Seoul, Korea, and moved to the States with my family when I was a young teenager. I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’ve always had an interest in art growing up and studied graphic design in southern California and decided to move back to the bay area after finishing school. I’ve worked at Korea Central Daily as an advertising designer and worked for Lionbridge Technologies, Inc. as a senior publishing manager for nearly 20 years. I’m currently living in Oakland, CA with my family and working from my home office. In 2014, I launched a series of workshops called Banchan Workshop. It was a way for me to develop an interest in Korean cooking. That interest became a deep passion and I decided to pursue a career in food. Currently, I’m working as a menu developer/consultant for Korean restaurants in the area. This blog is a space for me to explore, brainstorm and share my creative thinking process. I love to cook, drink coffee and cook some more. Welcome.
