Lap Swimmer’s Essentials

05.23.14
Summer is almost here…swimming season! Are you all geared up to jump in the pool, to hit the beach this summer? For lap swimmers like me, I’m sure swimming isn’t just for summer. We hit the pool all year-round and we swim to get our workout. I know lap swimmers tend to look serious, yeah, it looks almost as routine like getting on that treadmill. But who says we can’t look stylish in the pool, during our workout?! Here I have selected and pinned to my wishlist for my new swim season. These are what I called “Lap Swimmer’s Essentials”.
Do you have an item that’s on your must list when hitting the pool (indoor or outdoor)?
These are pretty much perfect for my body and my sensitive skin (eczema-suffering). They look great indoor, outdoor pool and even at the beach.
Make sure to invest in good googles. One that last a long time and that is fog-free!
I prefer lycra ones over rubber ones. They don’t feel too tight on my head and is comfortable.

Ever since I started using this, I never got those annoying swimmer’s ear. Water in my ear for days is the most annoying thing ever!

This cute sailer stripe zip bag is large enough to hold on these essential items so you don’t have to carry a separate gym bag when you need to go swim.
Definitely an essential if you are swimming outdoors. This light-weight waterproof sunscreens are the best! Make sure to apply to your face, top of your shoulders and your back as well before getting in the water.
Ok, are you laughing because I take my bath robe to my gym?
These are essential! I prefer to walk in my bath robe than my towel from the pool to shower!

“I swim because I can take my mind off of things. I can reach as far as I want, feeling completely free of worries. It takes work to get yourself in the water but once you do, there is no sweating, and in the end, you’re wrung out.”  – Don Draper (from MadMen Season 4)
